On Thursday all of the girls in the office got to go have lunch with Michelle Obama ~ well, along with about 2,000 other people but hey, we had great seats! It was a lot of fun! Mrs. Reichert was in charge of the 2009 "First Ladies Lunch" and she got a bunch of extra tickets. This was our second year going to this event, which always makes the guys in our office very angry because we leave them to run things for three hours in the middle of the day. But hey, when the congressman invites you to go to a lunch with he and his wife ~ how can you say no. The congressman was seated at the table directly in front the first lady and since I had to run over there to inform him of stuff going on in the office a number of times during the lunch I did in act make eye contact with Michelle Obama ~ and we smiled at each other. She may have been really annoyed at me parading back and forth in front of her but I like to think is that as a fellow j. crew fan, she was admiring my new lavender "jackie cardigan":). We had a wonderful time, we had great food and great company ~ I adore all the girls I work with and we had a blast....and scored some really cute gift bags too!
