Brad and I drove down to the Outer Banks in N. Carolina for Memorial day this year. We stayed in a house with fourteen other people from our stake. The weather was fantastic the whole time, until the very last day and then there was a big storm - but the storms are fun because they create the crazy big waves in the ocean and that is always very impressive.
I thought I would include my least favorite part of the Outer Banks - the sand crabs! During the day they aren't out much because of the heat but in the early evening they come out and run around the beach, you have to be careful that they don't run over your feet or worse - under your feet, yuck. They're good to eat but not good to hang out at the beach with!
One of the mornings we were there Brad came and woke me up at 5:00am and asked if I wanted to go out to watch the sun rise with him and I'm so glad that I went. It was so pretty! We saw a whole herd of dolphins swimming along the shore line and we saw a shark too. We tried to get some pictures but they didn't turn out. I thought that I would include a picture of the pathway out to the beach from our house - I thought it was very pretty with the trees making a tunnel around you.
It was a very fun weekend and I'm sad that it's over - - - till next year that is!!
